Mission and Objectives
The universal mission of the ICOMIA Marinas Committee (IMC) is to improve the quality of the recreational boating experience through the development of marinas, yacht harbours, boatyards and small boat launching ramps.
The committee was born out of ICOMIA`s recognition that ensuring boat owners a safe and convenient place to berth, moor or launch their boat is vital to the future of the sport and industry. To this end, the IMC`s goals are to provide international leadership and a forum for the exchange of relevant technical, environmental, and marketing information; to forge a partnership between marina interests and recreational marine equipment manufacturers for strength and unity in securing and preserving waterfrontage for boat access; to educate government to the economic importance and environmental compatibility of recreational boating facilities with a view to easing regulatory barriers; and to network with others in the recreational boating facilities field, pooling information for the common good.
