AUSTRALIAN MARINE INDUSTRIES FEDERATION - AMIF
The Australian Marine Industries Federation (AMIF) is the peak body of the recreational and light commercial boating and marine industry in Australia. It represents the different State and Territory Boating Industry Associations across the nation and their collective membership of over 1 400 companies and individuals on matters of national importance.
Until 1998, the organisation was called the Boating Industry Association of Australia, but was renamed in order to better reflect the breadth and scope of the industry. Since that time the AMIF has continued to support and promote the industry through the establishment of an Export Marketing Group known as AIMEX and the establishment of the Marina Association of Australia. In addition, AMIF co-ordinates the National Marine Awards, allocates Manufacturers' Identification Codes, indicates training needs to the Federal Government and participates in many government, national and international committees.
The Board of AMIF very much enjoyed welcoming delegates and partners to Sydney for the 2002 ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress.
