The 2012 ICOMIA/IFBSO Congress is to be held in Cape Town, South Africa and will take place between Wednesday 18 - Saturday 21 April 2012. It is hosted by the newly formed Marine Industry of South Africa (MIASA) and the South African Boat Building Export Council (SABBEX).

Edition 2 of ICOMIA's Exporters' Database on China has been published today. It gives detailed information on Chinese boatbuilders, marinas and distributors. It also contains useful information on establishing a business in China.

ICOMIA launched its new global personal watercraft resource website today. The website provides advice for safe and responsible riding, information on the evolution of PWC, as well as ideas for recreational activities, tips on how to be environmentally friendly on the water and information on the use of personal watercraft for life saving.

ICOMIA, supported by the International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI), has launched a scantlings calculator which uses a series of easy-to-use spreadsheets in order to provide a calculation method to help and encourage builders to comply with ISO (Small Craft) Scantling standard 12215 Part 5.
