 The International Maritime Organisation (IMO), at its Marine Environment Protection Committee meeting held from 13-17 May rejected a proposal submitted by Turkey and ICOMIA that sought to mitigate the impact caused by the Tier III regulation.

The 10th Conference of its kind, the event was a great success thanks to the hard work of hosts and event organisers, as well as the sponsors and speakers that made the event possible.  ICOMIA has launched ICOMIA Standard 51 – 18: Acceptance Criteria Guidelines for the Finish and Appearance for Super Yacht Coatings. This follows on from past documentation on acceptance criteria for coatings, including ISO 11347. This brand-new document takes a novel approach to the development of acceptance criteria: rather than providing ‘Pass/Fail’ values it will instead serve as a structured guide to assist contractual parties in constructing their own project specific, fit-for-purpose acceptance criteria document.

The International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) has released the latest edition of its Recreational Boating Industry Statistics. This year the book has been produced with the largest number of contributing countries in its history, making it the most comprehensive to date.
